Bengkel Menziarahi Pesakit

Pada 24 Julai 2011, Bengkel ' Menziarahi Pesakit' yang dikendalikan oleh Presiden BCSSNS Pn Padma Menon telah diadakan di Bilik Biduanda HTJ, Seremban. Seramai 20 orang telah menyertai bengkel ini. Beberapa tips penting mengenai cara berkomunikasi dengan pesakit telah di sampaikan.

On 25th July 2011, a nutritional talk (by NCI Hospital in-house dietitian), cooking demo (by NCI Hospital in-house dietitian) and demonstration on the multiple ways of using oral nutritional supplement was held at NCI Hospital.

Chong Yit Moi

Is a single woman aged 60. Used to work as a cleaner in Singapore & sewed clothes for people as was good in sewing. She earned good money. In 2001 was diagnosed with cancer in the  breast. Returned to Malaysia to seek treatment . As had  sufficient saving,  went to Nilai Cancer Institute (NCI). During the entire length of her treatment she was alone, took care of herself & she fought the battle alone. 

Then in 2007 had cancer in the right lung & in 2009 the left lung. As by then she had used up most of her savings & could not afford to go to NCI, she seeks sought  treatment at GH Seremban. These days after chemo, she goes to her niece’s house as is too weak. She plants a little vegetables which she sells in the market to supplement her income. She receives Rm 270 from the Welfare Dept . This is hardly enough to live She is very cheerful in appearance and is willing to work

Relay For Life

The National Cancer Society of Malaysia’s Relay For Life is a high-spirited event where everyone in the community can join in the fight against cancer. It is a day filled with fun, comradeship and festivities. It is a time when people you know and people you don’t know team up to raise public awareness about cancer in the community and to raise funds to find the cure.

Relay For Life began in 1985 in Tacoma, Washington when Dr. Gordon Klatt walked for 24 hours to raise money for the American Cancer Society. He raised $27,000 that first year. Since then, Relay For Life events around the world have raised a billion dollars to support programmes aimed at eliminating cancer.

On Relay Day, team members take turns walking around the track to ensure that someone is on the track at all times. We don’t sleep that night because cancer never sleeps

Mesyuarat AJK BCSSNS Kali 3 2011

Pada  3/7/2011, mesyuarat ajk telah diadakan bagi membincangkan aktiviti - aktiviti yang akan.

Antara aktitivi - aktiviti yang dirancang adalah seperti berikut:

1)  Perjumpaan dengan pesakit

2)  Lawatan ke Persatuan Kanser Segamat

3)  Pengukuran coli dan prostesis

4)  Bantuan kepada ahli sempena Hariraya Aidilfitri

5)  Penyertaan dalam program 'Relay for Life'

6)  Penyertaan dalam program 'Ride with Pride'
